Overview of Little Brother Application Process
Eligibility:
The boy must be between the
ages of 6 and 12 when first referred to the program (Note: once involved, boys
can remain in the program until they reach age 17).
The boy’s Father must
not live in the home or have regular monthly or more frequent contact
with his son.
The boy’s mother must not be
remarried (stepfather involved) or have a live-in boyfriend.
If there is another adult
male role providing involvement, such as an uncle or neighbour, the referral
will be considered, depending on the nature of the contact.
Any serious behaviour and/or
physical and/or mental challenges will be assessed and, depending on the
severity, a boy may not be eligible for the program.
*Please note that should
your family situation change while your son is waiting to be matched, he may
become ineligible for the program.
Application
Process:
Return the application after
you, and your son have completed the appropriate sections.
We will request a school
report from your sons school.
Assessment interviews will
be conducted by the agency Caseworker at our office and in your home.
Both the mom and little Brother must participate in the agency Safety Program before he is matched.
